  • I'm Back....

I didn't realize it's been so long, since I've posted anything here on Xanga!  Almost THREE months!!  Wow!  I have a lot of catching up to do!

Since my last writing here on Xanga, I'm sorry to say that my Mom lost her battle with Lung Cancer.  She actually had Lung, Bone, and Brain Cancer.  She passed away on November 24, 2009.  We were all able to be there with her.  Her funeral was small, but quaint.  Some members from a CMA (Christian Motorcyclists Association) came to support us.  We've been members of CMA for over six years.  It was awesome to see them there.  Mom's family that was present took up one pew.  No one else was able to make it.  It made me very sad that even her brother was not there.  But she had many friends from TN who were there for her.  We went on with Thanksgiving the best we could.  One blessing about the whole week though, was watching my daughters and their children get along so good; and be there for each other.  That is a huge answer to prayer, in so many way!  Oh yea, one other thing that happened in November too, was 9 days after my Mom passed away, her best friend Faye passed away, from the same exact thing...Lung Cancer.  Three weeks before Faye died though, she accepted Christ as her Savior.  This really blessed me because Faye had never believed in God before, and was always into witchcraft!  It just goes to show that God CAN and WILL forgive all, if WE choose Him and confess our sins!

Here is the last picture that was taken with my Mom and her kids:

In December, not a lot happened.  None of our kids were able to be here with us, so we spent the day with some friends of ours.  We had a great time!!  We ate a huge dinner of Lasagna, Salad, and Garlic Bread, and finished the day by playing cards for the rest of the afternoon!!

In January, we had our kids over to celebrate Christmas with us, on the 13th.  Then the following day, my husband was Baptized!  He had never been baptized before.  What he said before he was baptized absolutely made me cry!!  He told everyone that I was the reason he had made such a strong dedication to Christ; that I encouraged him in his walk with the Lord.  I'm glad he saw it as encouragement and not nagging!!! LOL  I was so blessed to hear those words!!

Now we have reached February!  So far, everyone is healthy....PTL!!!  My cleaning business has been getting along just fine; keeping me very busy.  I have started a new business with a company called Blessings Unlimited.  It's a line of home decor items; books; journals; puzzles for kids; jewelry; greeting cards, and so much more!  You can take a look at the site HERE.  You will love the products once you actually see them!  The website and catalog are good, but they in no way show you just how beautiful these products truly are!!  I hope you take a look!

I'm still really busy with my loom knitting!  I so love it!!  I have gotten a few orders too!  I also have donated many newborn caps to the local hospital; as well as chemo caps to a local cancer center.  My dad also has some that he has taken to a couple of places in Kansas, as well!  I am currently working on a baby blanket for a friend of mine.  It's for her brother who is a Marine.  They know they are having a boy, so I am making a cap and blanket in the Winter Camo yarn!  It is really PRETTY!!! Can't wait to show it to you!!

Oh yea, and also for February was the SUPER BOWL!!!!  I liked both teams, but was really glad to see the Saints take the win since they've never been there before!!! What an accomplishment!!

With that said, it's time for me to close, so I can get to one of my cleaning jobs.  I hope you all have had a great day!!

  • What I've Been Up To.....

Well, it's been a while since I've updated, so I have to tell ya what I have learned to do, and show you some pictures!! :)

I have taken up a new hobby...and I'm telling you, I AM LOVING IT!!!

LOOM KNITTING!!  Here's what I've been doing.....

Most of my work has been done on a round loom; but I just started to learn to use a rectangular loom, as well.  The round loom, so far, is what I use to make stocking caps with; whereas the rectangular one I use to make scarves.  You can use a round loom to make scarves, but truthfully, the rectangular one is much nicer for scarves, or table runners, etc.

So here is some of my work.  Tell me what you think!!

This last one is a chemo cap that I have made for my Mom.  Since she has lost her hair because of Chemo / Radiation, her head gets cold during the night.  So this cap I made out of a very soft spun yarn that feels very warm and cozy to the touch!  She Loves It!!!    She said it feels so good against her skin!  I'm so glad she liked it.

Anyway, that's what I've been doing with my down time!

As far as Mom is concerned, she is still hanging in there.  The Lord has really worked in our relationship; and continues to do so.  I can honestly say that we are on the road to reconciliation and recovery!  I'm so glad!  Nothing feels worse than to know your Mom is dying, and you are on the outs with each other!  So the Lord is blessing this time that we have left, and we are making the best of it.  Thank you Jesus!

The Cleaning Business has been very busy lately!! I've picked up 4 one-time cleaning jobs; and 2 regular customers, with the possibility of another one coming -- PLUS all my regular customers!!!!  My calendar for November is swamped!  Very good timing, too!  Now I just hope that it keeps up and helps us get through Xmas financially!

The weather has been PERFECT here lately!!! We've been seeing temps upwards of 60's and 70's!!!  It's been so BEAUTIFUL!!!  I love this time of year; especially when we have a full Harvest Moon!!  Oh man, that is just breathtaking!

Okay, so that's all that's happening with me.  So what's new with you????

    Nite Everyone!

  • For Where Your Treasure Is, There Will Your Heart Be, Also

    What’s Most Important
    By: John Ogden Sr.

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:21

Many times in life we are asked the question, “What’s most important to us?” For Christians, we normally hear things like: God, our relationship to our Savior, doing God’s will, my family, etc. This question also requires us to look at where we are spending our time. Many times in my own life, when I weighed what I thought was most important to where I spent my time and energy, they were not the same. This led me to believe that I knew what should be the most important thing, but, in reality, it was not.

This scripture states that our treasure and heart will be in the same place. What we spend our time thinking about and our energy doing is what is most important in our lives. From the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. The things that we talk about are the things that are in our hearts. This is an indication of where our treasure is. Our lives are like a garden: we produce what has been planted. If the most important things in life are not where our treasure is, then we can change. We can refocus. If we have not made God’s will and direction in our life the treasure, then we can by turning our will and our way over to Him. If we begin to plant the things of God in our lives and in the lives of our families, this will bring us not only in focus with God’s plan, but will move our heart into a right relationship with God. Our heart and our treasure will then be put into the center of God’s will. By putting God first in our lives and seeking His will and direction, everything else will become a right priority: our relationship with our family, our relationship with God, and our relationship with the things of this world. In my life I must periodically examine where my time is spent so that I may know if I am keeping the number one thing the number one thing.

Where is your heart? What is your treasure? Do your time and actions balance with your treasure? What is most important?
