It's been a GREAT Day today!! I slept in, to begin with. Hubby got up around 7am and went to see someone about a backrest for his motorcycle; and he left me sleeping! :) Felt good to not have to get up and immediately run alllllllll day long!!! :) I got to slowly wake up and enjoy my morning!
I went to a Yard Sale today and found 3 nice pair of Women's Slacks; then went grocery shopping. Spent a lot since I hadn't been shopping in quite a while! But now we are stocked up again for a while! I got home and pulled out the Polish Sausage / Green Peppers / Onions / Tomatoes and make Shish Kabob's with some Brown Rice, for dinner! It was really good! I have never made Shish Kabob's before! So it was kind of fun putting them all together!! Hubby liked them too!!
Last night I made a Beef Pot Pie for dinner. First time I've ever made that, too!! :) Had some unexpected guests show up before dinner was ready, so we invited them to eat with us. I told them they could be my Guinea Pigs with the Pot Pie and tell me how I did. We all loved it! It was left over roast beef / potatoes / carrots from dinner the other night, and I added some peas and corn. It had a rich brown gravy with it, as well. YUMMMMY!!! I will definitely make this recipe again!!
Tomorrow I will be attending a Women's Conference at our church. It's a Simulcast of a conference that is happening all across the United States. Here's the link to it:
WOMEN'S CONFERENCE Should be a good conference since they have some great speakers! Lunch is included, as well. I hope there are a lot of women there!!
I'm really enjoying a bible study that I started attending last week. It's a weekly study where we are studying the book "Speaking Wisely: Exploring the Power of Words" by Poppy Smith. Here is the link for the book, on Amazon:
SPEAKING WISELY I'm really learning a lot about how I speak, and how I accept what others speak to me, and about me, as well! It's a GREAT study!
It's been so much fun going back to our old church, too! It's like the Lord has totally opened up some doors for us to meet so many new friends; and reconcile with old friends! We were invited to start attending a Group Study, as well. We are studying The Truth Project. WOW WOW WOW!!!! We've only watched the first DVD, but man oh man, it is GOOD!!!! I can't wait for the next class!!! It's a study put on by Focus On the Family. If your church has never done this study, you might want to check into it and suggest it to the Director of Adult Ministry. It is an awesome class, and we've just begun!!!
THE TRUTH PROJECT If any of you have already gone through this study, I'd love to hear your comments!!
So I got some news today about my Mom. She has begun a new chemo treatment recently. They are in hopes to see some good results with this treatment. They are not saying it will prolong her life, but you never know! God is still in the miracle business!! She also fell recently and cut her head and had to have stitches. She's really tired a lot and sleeps most of the time. She is still not speaking to me. I got this news from someone who spoke to her today and then called me. Mom doesn't know that Jan and I are talking, so she is able to get some information and pass it on to me. I keep praying that soon Mom will come to grips with what happened to her and I while I was there, and realize that her life could be ending soon, and it's time to put bygones behind us and move forward! It's a long story and not one that should even be happening right now, but that's what happens in dysfunctional families. Just when you really need each other, all hell breaks loose, and families stop speaking to each other. It sucks! And it hurts like hell!! But I keep praying. That's all I can do right now!
Next weekend I am going to my youngest daughters house. Her little one, my granddaughter, is taking Ballet Classes now. So I can't wait to see her!!! She sent me some pictures of her in her little tutu and it is adorable!!! She's such a pretty little girl anyway, but this is just precious! I will post some pictures next weekend when I get home. I'm also going to pick up a table and four chairs that I have bought from Heather, for our kitchen. The one that we have now is old and really needs to be refurbished. Plus, I want something a little smaller in our kitchen, since it's just the two of us now. We're really making some nice changes in our home lately, and I'd like to keep it up somehow!
Okay, that's enough for today! Guess I will close for now. I hope you have had a great day!!!
C ya!
